How to choose wallpaper for a small bedroom

Most Faridabad bedrooms are not villa suites. A 10×12 room with a wardrobe, a bed and a window still has one wall that can take wallpaper without choking the space. The trick is scale, not fear of pattern.
Paper one wall, not four
The headboard wall is the default: you see it from the door, and the bed anchors the motif. Papering behind the wardrobe is money spent on a hidden surface. Papering all four walls with a large floral in a low NIT room usually feels smaller, not cosier.
If you want more coverage, use a quiet texture on sides and keep the statement on the headboard. Kids’ rooms follow the same rule — see kids’ room wallpaper.
Scale and colour
Large motifs need viewing distance. In a short room, pick a smaller repeat or a mural whose horizon sits calmly behind the pillows. Dark colours can work on one wall with light paint elsewhere; a dark wrap plus dark curtains plus a low ceiling is a cave.
Look at samples at night with your bedside lamp. Warm LEDs shift terracotta and sage. West balconies in Greater Faridabad add fade risk — ask about the ink, not just the pretty repeat.
Obstacles: AC, windows, mirrors
Plan the motif away from the AC grille and the curtain stack. A seam through a face on a mural is the usual disappointment. Mirrors opposite a busy paper double the busyness.
Measure width and height, subtract the window, and use the calculator. Then walk the bedroom collection. A placeholder NIT bedroom project shows how we will document a real headboard wall.
What not to copy from social media
Palace bedrooms, 14-foot ceilings, and “uninstalled” rolls draped on a bed. Your room has Indian apartment constraints. We would rather you leave with two honest samples from Sector 19 than a cart full of paper that fights the wardrobe.
